Utah Statewide Abandoned Mine Reclamation Project

This project is a continuation of an existing Cooperative Agreement No. JSA071003, which expires December 31, 2012. This continuation will allow BLM and AMRP programs to continue sharing limited resources of each agency to reclaim more abandoned mine sites and lands affected by past mining activities than either agency could do by themselves. BLM and the State will work together to ensure that physical safety hazards at AML sites as well as environmental issues are addressed on public lands in the State of Utah. The State can only address physical safety hazards at abandoned mine site whereas BLM has the authority to address not only the physical safety hazards but the environmental hazards as well.
