Reagents for Glucagon and Incretin Research (R43/R44)
This Funding Opportunity Announcement (FOA) invites Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) grant applications from small business concerns (SBCs) for funding to perform research leading to the development of: A) Validated, highly sensitive, and specific assays for plasma glucagon B) Reagents for manipulation of glucagon receptor activity in the pancreatic islet and other tissues C) Reagents to be used to improve our understanding of pancreatic alpha-cell biology particularly in response to glucagon and incretins D) Reagents and assays for the accurate expression and quantitation of functional incretin receptors in the endocrine/exocrine cells of the pancreas and relevant extrapancreatic tissues.
