Quagga-Mussel Containment in the West

Federal funds will be made available in fiscal year 2013 to prevent further spread of quagga and zebra mussels into the western united states. Approximately $900,000 is available for a limited number of projects that target containment of quagga or zebra mussels in areas already infested, e.g., the lower Colorado River, by ensuring that boats trailered from infested areas do not carry invasive mussels to other waters.
