Propagate Native Species for Restoration Efforts

BLM will work cooperatively with a organization to collect local seed and propagate native species for restoration efforts that are on-going throughout BLM managed lands. Throughout the year, at the appropriate times the Resource Conservation District (RCD) will propagate genetically appropriate plant species that are needed for restoration of public lands.RCD will propagate and store plants in pots that are appropriate to the root systems of the species selected. Exact species and number of each to be propagated will be determined as the restoration work continues and restoration needs for 2012-2017 become clearer. Seeds and vegetative materials will be cared for and held until BLM staff is ready for the materials.
