Partnering with the Ministry of Health of Vietnam to Build a Sustainable System for HIV/AIDS Prevention, Care, and Treatment in the Socialist Republic of Vietnam under the President?s Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR)
The purpose of this funding opportunity announcement is to support the Government of Vietnam (GVN), Ministry of Health (MOH) to develop a sustainable system for HIV/AIDS prevention, care and treatment. Specifically, this funding announcement will support GVN to achieve the goals and objectives of the National Strategy on HIV/AIDS Prevention and Control (2010-2020) and to sustain the national response to the HIV/AIDS epidemic.

The Vietnam MOH/VAAC is uniquely qualified for this funding opportunity because of their political mandate, clearly acknowledged leadership by all partners, and significant experience to continue this strong and vital coordinating role. The proposed award specifically aims to strengthen the capacity of the Vietnam MOH to build a sustainable system for HIV/AIDs prevention and care. The Ministry of Health is in the unique position to receive this award because it is mandated under the Vietnam Law on HIV/AIDS (Law 64/2006/QH11) to be the focal government agency for exercising State management authority in the HIV/AIDS control area.
