OVC FY 15 National Joint Training Conference for VOCA Victim Assistance and Victim Compensation Administrators Competitive Solicitation
One discretionary grant of $175,000 will be awarded to plan and administer the National Joint Training Conference for VOCA Victim Assistance and Victim Compensation Administrators, to be held in 2016. This 2.5-day conference will provide training and technical assistance for Victims of Crime Act (VOCA) administrators, staff, and board members; and facilitate a forum for the presentation of state issues and practices. The conference will employ lectures, panels, workshops, and forums to explore ways to improve the delivery of crime victim services; provide an opportunity for VOCA administrators to exchange information, views, and experiences; and provide training and technical assistance on effective program operations. Who is eligible to apply/benefit from this assistance?
Applicant Eligibility
Applicants are limited to national associations, private nonprofit organizations (including tribal nonprofit organizations), faith- and community-based organizations, institutions of higher education (including tribal institutions of higher education), and public agencies (including federally recognized Indian tribal governments as determined by the Secretary of the Interior) that can demonstrate knowledge and understanding of state-administered VOCA assistance and compensations programs, and that possess the staff, resources, and capability to plan and implement a national training conference for approximately 250 VOCA administrators and their staff. OVC welcomes applications that involve two or more entities; however, one eligible entity must be the applicant and the others must be proposed as subrecipients. The applicant must be the entity with primary responsibility for administering the funding and managing the entire 2016 National Joint Training Conference for VOCA Victim Assistance and Victim Compensation Administrators. Only one application per lead applicant will be considered; however, subrecipients may be part of multiple proposals. OVC may elect to make awards for applications submitted under this solicitation in future fiscal years, dependent on the merit of the applications and on the availability of appropriations.
