New Bed Ford Water Front Festival
NCTA agrees to: 1. Assist NPS in planning and production of the “Working Waterfront Festival” at the New Bedford Whaling NHP; 2. Provide production, logistical, technical and staff support for performances at the Festival; 3. Provide the park with event documentation of Festival performances and of the event’s oral history collection project centered on New Bedford’s fishing industry for use in park interpretive exhibits and activities; 4. Assist the park in researching and developing cultural programs that interpret the diversity of cultures associated with the city’s whaling industry and maritime history with particular emphasis on Azorean and Madeiran Portuguese, Cape Verdean, African American, West Indian, French Canadian and Norwegian cultures; 5. Arrange for performances/presentations by appropriate traditional artists and/or tribal groups as directed by NPS.
