The Sustain Our Great Lakes program is a public-private partnership among Arcelor Mittal, U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, U.S.D.A. Forest Service, National Fish and Wildlife Foundation, National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, and Natural Resources Conservation Service. Its mission is to sustain, restore and protect fish, wildlife and habitat in the Great Lakes basin by leveraging funding, building conservation capacity, and focusing partners and resources toward key ecological issues. This is a single source award to the National Fish and Wildlife Foundation for administration of the Sustain Our Great Lakes Program, as described above. The agreement is part of the Great Lakes Restoration Initiative (GLRI) and is supported by GLRI FY 2014 funding allocated to the Service by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency - Great Lakes National Program Office. Due to a congressionally formalized relationship between the Service and NFWF, region-specific grant-making expertise, and prior leadership with the Sustain Our Great Lakes program for more than five years, NFWF is the one uniquely qualified partner able to administer the Sustain Our Great Lakes Program.
