Monarch Butterfly and wildflower habitat resotration
Implement approximately 25 acres of wildflower and native grass restoration for Monarch Butterfly habitat on the Sacramento River NWR. In addition, SNWRC staff will work with the recipient and the local school district to develop and maintain a Monarch Butterfly Wildflower Pollinator Garden on a Refuge Unit. The recipient of the funding will provide assistance to Refuge staff in site preparation, restoration design, weed control, seed propagation, native plant seed drilling, and hands on environmental education for local students. The Recipient will provide staff time, equipment, restoration expertise, seed collection, materials purchasing, and field opportunities for local students to assist in the implementation of restoration and maintenance.
