Joint Fire Science Program/Wildland Fire and Research Program

 

Funding Opportunity Description: This is a single-source announcement for a cooperative agreement between the U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service (Service) and Northern Arizona University Lab of Landscape Ecology and Conservation Biology (NAU-LLECB) to complete field research, analyses, progress reports and other aspects of the research over the duration of the project. The project start and ending dates are 07/31/2013 and 6/31/2016. Fish and Wildlife Service PI and Co-PI will be highly involved in the project providing existing data, assistance with student advising as well as analytical and technical support to NAU-LLECB CoPI and collaborators for the duration of this project. This project is focused on the ServiceÂ’s Buenos Aires National Wildlife Refuge (NWR) in an effort to improve the natural resources and health of wildlife populations and their habitats, with a focus on habitat rehabilitation and prescribed fire impacts on the critically endangered masked bobwhite quail.
