NOTICE OF INTENT TO AWARD. This is not a request for applications. This funding announcement is to provide public notice that the National Park Service will fund the following project under an existing Cooperative Management with ACE Under this agreement, Sequoia and Kings Canyon National Parks will support opportunities for young ACE crew members to be trained in and conduct resource conservation work. Training and tasks may include ecological restoration of damaged ecosystems, invasive plant control, trail and fence maintenance, sign/exhibit maintenance, and other similar cultural and natural resource restoration projects in both frontcountry and wilderness locations within the park. The frontcountry projects include implementing roadside revegetation treatments following construction. The wilderness project includes treating invasive velvet grass infestations in the Kern Canyon. If funding is available, frontcountry work could also include additional invasive plant control and ecological restoration projects such as wetland restoration and erosion repair.
