Improving the Information, Planning and Conservation Decision Support System (IPaC) Functionality

 

Tasks to be performed on this award: One to two day scoping workshop with USFWS employees at MTNHP to review existing data products and identify current data products that are (1) currently adequate, (2) need to be updated, or (3) need to be developed de novo for representing area of influence and current range. Update and/or develop the Area of Influence and Current Range GIS data layers for up to 30 species that are listed, or under consideration for listing as Threatened or Endangered, or are otherwise of highest conservation concern (e.g., global ranks of G1-G2 or evidence for rapidly declining populations)1.Update and/or develop range polygons, species occurrences, and maximum entropy predictive distribution models that are acceptable for delineation of Area of Influence and Current Range delineation. Develop and transfer the finalized GIS data layers for Area of Influence and Current Range for the species in Montana to the USFWS for inclusion in the USFWS Environmental Conservation Online System (ECOS) system for subsequent use in the USFWS IPaC system.
