Implementation of Integrated HIV/AIDS Treatment, Care and Prevention Programs in the Republic of Mozambique under the President's Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief
The purpose of this program is to support the implementation of integrated HIV/AIDS treatment, care and prevention programs in the Republic of Mozambique. Activities to be supported include in monitoring and evaluation (M&E), human resources for health, biosafety, cervical cancer, prevention of HIV in the workplace, counseling and testing, Prevention of Mother to Child Transmission (PMTCT), prevention of HIV amongst most at risk populations, positive prevention, adult and pediatric care and treatment, strategic information, sexually transmitted infections, tuberculosis, traditional medicine, improving and expanding reproductive health in the clinical and community setting, and establishing health information systems to carry out routine HIV program monitoring and evaluation activities.

Who is eligible to apply/benefit from this assistance?
Applicant Eligibility
The Ministry of Health (MOH) is the only appropriate and qualified organization to conduct a specific set of activities supportive of the CDC Global AIDS ProgramÂ’s technical assistance to Mozambique for the following reasons: (1) the MOH is uniquely positioned, in terms of legal authority, ability, and credibility among Mozambique citizens, to collect crucial data on HIV/AIDS as well as to provide care to HIV infected patients; (2) the MOH in Mozambique is mandated to perform the activities necessary for the control of epidemic, including HIV/AIDS; (3) private health care services are virtually nonexistent, however, the MOH already has an established network of health care facilities of varying capacity throughout Mozambique.
