Immunization Information Systems (IIS) Capacity and Operations Support

 

The purpose of this program is to develop, implement and drive the adoption of tools, methodologies and community-developed practices that will increase the technical and operational capacity of Immunization Information Systems (IIS) and the integration of these systems into Immunization and VFC Program operations. Strengthening the capacity of these systems will improve overall immunization coverage and reduce the transmission of vaccine preventable disease.

Additional Information on Eligibility Special Requirements: Eligible applicants for this program have a large immunization information system (IIS) membership in their organizations and have extensive experience in IIS community engagement, facilitation, IIS operational and technical practices development, educational curriculum development, technical assistance and IIS and Immunization/VFC Program integration. The applicant must demonstrate an organizational infrastructure and capacity to bring together IIS professionals, evaluators, immunization program and information technology professionals to accomplish program activities, specifically illustrating ability to produce products that benefit the entire IIS community. Examples of infrastructure include a national perspective, board of directors, established communication channels, and active workgroups and committees and experience in conducting similar work. Applicants should have existing communication channels to disseminate guidance, support, trainings, and products to all IIS.
