The United States Agency for International Development (USAID) is seeking applications from local organizations to carry out activities that will: • Improve health and humanitarian outcomes among the Palestinian population living in the West Bank and Gaza by addressing the predominant causes of morbidity and mortality. • Reduce health disparities among the Palestinian population. • Reduce the need for costly referrals outside the Palestinian health system, by expanding the capacity of secondary or tertiary services often accessed via referral to other countries but that can be provided by capable NGO or private providers within the Palestinian territories. • Reduce public health threats in the West Bank and Gaza by raising public awareness, promoting preventive actions, healthy behaviors, and utilization of health services, including screening procedures for non-communicable diseases. • Mitigate the threats to health and well-being caused by the humanitarian situation by providing humanitarian assistance that is responsive to the needs of the people.
