Cooperative Agreement was entered into by and between the Department of the Interior, National Park Service, (NPS), and the Kenai Mountains-Turnagain Arm Corridor Communities Association (hereafter â₏œAssociationâ₏) for the purpose of fulfilling the management plan goals. Unless otherwise specified herein, the terms and conditions as stated in the Cooperative Agreement will apply to this Task Agreement. National Heritage Areas are places where natural, cultural, historic and scenic resources combine to form a cohesive, nationally important landscape arising from human activity shaped by geography. These patterns make National Heritage Areas representative of the national experience through the physical features that remain and the traditions that have evolved in them. These regions are acknowledged by Congress for their capacity to tell nationally important stories about our nation. This Task Agreement focuses on planning, administration, marketing, and preservation and conservation projects that are within the scope of the approved management plan for the Kenai Mountains-Turnagain Arm National Heritage Area (KMTANHA) and serve a public purpose under Public Law. No. 111-11.
