Dynamic Distributed Resource Management (DDRM)

 

The purpose of this Funding Opportunity Announcement (FOA) is to solicit applications that will significantly enhance the ability of large collaborative science communities to dynamically assemble and use all the resources required to collect, process, and interpret an experiments data. These resources include, but are not limited to, computers, storage systems, instruments, multi-gigabit networks, data, and documents. Collaborations that include a DOE National Laboratory should note that proposals from a DOE National Laboratory must be submitted in response to the companion laboratory announcement (LAB 15-1344) in PAMS.

Who is eligible to apply/benefit from this assistance?
Applicant Eligibility
All types of applicants are eligible to apply, except Federally Funded Research and Development Center (FFRDC) Contractors, and nonprofit organizations described in section 501(c)(4) of the Internal Revenue Code of 1986 that engaged in lobbying activities after December 31, 1995. DOE National Laboratories [and other Federal agencies] are not eligible to receive financial assistance awards under this FOA, but they may submit collaborating applications in accordance with the instructions in Section IV, Part C, below. DOE National Laboratories whose collaborating applications are considered for funding may be invited to submit a proposal in the Office of Scienceâ₏™s PAMS website for the receipt of a Field Work Authorization. Other Federal agencies whose collaborating applications are considered for funding may be invited to submit a proposal in the Office of Scienceâ₏™s PAMS website for the receipt of an Interagency Award. Applicants that are not domestic organizations should be advised that: â₏¢ Individual applicants are unlikely to possess the skills, abilities, and resources to successfully accomplish the objectives of this FOA. Individual applicants are encouraged to address this concern in their applications and to demonstrate how they will accomplish the objectives of this FOA. â₏¢ Non-domestic applicants are advised that successful applications from non-domestic applicants include a detailed demonstration of how the applicant possesses skills, resources, and abilities that do not exist among potential domestic applicants.
