Development of Management Planning Leading to the Restoration of Prairie Habitats in National Parks

 

This is a Notice of Intent (NOI) to award a non-competitive Task Agreement under the Gulf Coast, Cooperative Ecosystem Studies Unit (CESU) Master Cooperative Agreement (P12AC51051) in accordance with Department of Interior, 505 Departmental Manual 2.12C. The purpose of this project is to use a combined approach to restore 750 acres of shortgrass and mixed-grass prairie at nine National Park Service units in five states. In addition, this project will further build park and regional expertise in native prairie restoration initiated in another ongoing project. In this part of the effort, national experts on grassland ecology and restoration at the University of Texas at AustinÂ’s Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center (LBJWC) will assess the initial conditions and develop restoration plans for prairie habitats at Lake Meredith NRA, San Antonio Missions NHS, and Pecos National Historical Park in this portion of the project.
