Cooperative Ecosystem Studies Unit, Great Basin CESU

The U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) Fort Collins Science Center (FORT) is offering a funding opportunity to a CESU partner for mathematical research and support related to biological invasions in the Great Basin and throughout the U.S. and territories. The USGS is a federal scientific organization in the Department of Interior and is working with numerous federal and state agencies on invasive species research focusing on the biology, impacts, and control of invasive species. The Invasive Species Science Branch at USGS-FORT currently has expertise in the ecology of biological invasions and the development of species distribution models, but lacks broader expertise in mathematical visualization, mathematical modeling, and communication of mathematical concepts to audiences that lack formal high-level mathematical training.
