Cooperative Ecosystem Studies Unit, Californian CESU
The USGS is offering a funding opportunity to a CESU partner to extend ongoing tidal wetland field research into a larger framework to support a national inventory in coastal wetland carbon sequestration and greenhouse gas exchange. This project has been funded by the NASA ROSES program (14-CMS14-0033) under the title ¿Linking Satellite and Soil Data to Validate Coastal Wetland "Blue Carbon" Inventories: Upscaled Support for Developing MRV and REDD+ Protocols¿. This project seeks to develop the first tidal wetland verifiable carbon (C) monitoring protocol, appropriate for national policy and market-based interventions.
