Conduct trail maintenance including tread repair and erosion control on several trails in Cumberland Gap National Historic Park

 

This Funding Announcement is not a request for applications. This announcement is to provide public notice of the National Park Service (NPS), intention to fund the following project activities without competition. This project is a cooperative endeavor between NPS and American Conservation Experience. Project work will consist of a variety of general trail maintenance tasks. Crews will transport, distribute and compact tread materials onto areas of eroded trail surface. Other tasks may include the installation and cleaning of water bars and grade dips swales using hand tools (mattock, hoe, shovel, etc.) removal of encroaching vegetation using hand tools, gas powered string trimmers, chainsaws and pole saws blocking of social trails, and installation of signage.
