Capacity Building of Provincial Health Directorates (DPSs) in Mozambique under the President's Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR)
This Funding Opportunity Announcement (FOA) will focus on improving the capacity of Provincial Health Directorates (DPSs) in Mozambique to plan, monitor, implement, and oversee HIV related activities funded under PEPFAR following Ministry of Health (MOH) guidelines and scale up strategies. Institutional capacity building will prepare the DPSs to increase ownership and responsibility to take over these programs in the future. Given the magnitude of the epidemic and the limitations of the country and health infrastructure, Mozambique is considered a Ă‚â€long termÂ’ strategy country under PEPFAR. Currently, a large proportion of service provision is supported through international and some local Non-Government Organizations (NGOs). This FOA will promote further collaboration with these implementing partners as well as additional peer to peer partners to prepare a solid base on which to build quality local health services.
