This is a continuation of an existing Cooperative Agreement No. JSA071001 with the Canyonlands Natural History Association CNHA for the support of the Moab Information Center. The primary objective of this project is to help the BLM meet its obligation to help staff an interagency visitor center in Moab, Utah to provide the public with accurate and needed information for federal agencies and their lands in the area. This supports the agencies¿ goals of responsible use of public, forest and park lands. This obligation originates with a participating agreement between the BLM, U.S. Forest Service, National Park Service, Grand County and the project proponent, Canyonlands Natural History Association. This partnership helps local agencies to meet the ¿Service First¿ directive by providing one-stop-shopping for the public seeking information about public agencies and lands. Additionally, this project promotes the proponent¿s chief mission as a nonprofit organization which is to assist the scientific and educational efforts of the National Park Service, Bureau of Land Management, and the USDA Forest Service on federal lands in southeast Utah and the Four Corners Area.
