BLM OR-WA Smith River Basin Restoration

This agreement will allow the BLM and the Smith River Watershed Council to collaborate on projects that will improve water quality and fish habitat in the Smith River basin. Projects may include, but not be limited to, the identification, planning, and implementation of watershed restoration projects such as culvert and bridge replacements, instream habitat enhancement, road sediment abatement, riparian planting, and the control of invasive species. Projects currently identified for implementation include moving logs and boulders during emergency road clearing operations and weather events so that the logs and boulders could be used at a later date for instream restoration projects.
