BLM OR-WA Native Geno-Types - Comparative Yields in Commercial Field Production, Medford District
This project will evaluate the reliability and predictability (risks) of native grass species yields over a 5 to 10 year timeframe from wild-land collected sources and compare yields by species, genotypes, and environmental factors of source locations where available. The project will compare and analyze yields of wildland collected geno-types cultivated in an agricultural setting to determine the range of yields in the first, second, and third year of production, and describe the reliability of seed yields of a species and geno-types from different geographic areas. Data sets will be assembled for statistical analysis, additional field and environmental factors, and assessed by species including native geno-types, cultivars of the same species, cultivation practices and seed quality and weather events that effected yields. Changes in yields by species will be compared by Analysis of Variance (ANOVA).
