BJA FY 13 Harold Rogers Prescription Drug Monitoring Program

 

The primary purpose of the Harold Rogers Prescription Drug Monitoring Program (PDMP) is to enhance the capacity of regulatory and law enforcement agencies and public health officials to collect and analyze controlled substance prescription data and other scheduled chemical products through a centralized database administered by an authorized state agency. The program was created by the FY 2002 U.S. Department of Justice Appropriations Act (Public Law 107-77) and has received funding under each subsequent yearÂ’s Appropriations Act.

Who is eligible to apply/benefit from this assistance?
Applicant Eligibility
Implementation and Enhancement Grants (Category 1): Applicants are limited to state governments that have a pending or enacted enabling statute or regulation requiring the submission of controlled substance prescription data to an authorized state agency. Tribal Prescription Drug Monitoring Program Data Sharing Grants (Category 2): Applicants are limited to federally recognized tribal governments as defined under the Indian Self Determination Act, 25 U.S.C. 450b(e). Data-Driven Multi-Disciplinary Approaches to Reducing Rx Abuse Grants (Category 3): Applicants are limited to state agencies (health departments, law enforcement authorities, etc.) and units of county government located in states with existing and operational prescription drug monitoring programs.
