Assessment of Invasion Extent of Asian Swamp Eels in the Chattahoochee River

 

This project will determine the invasion extent and reproduction-emigration status of Asian swamp eel in the Chattahoochee River through the application of both traditional and molecular fisheries research techniques. This project will provide Chattahoochee River National Recreation Area resource managers with high-quality scientific research and technical assistance related to the problem of the Asian swamp eel. The project will provide resource managers with solid natural resource information that is needed to develop and implement sound adaptive management approaches. FY 14 amount NTE $127,672. Future awards contingent upon availability of funding.
