Assess density and population size of sika deer.

 

Sika deer are the most sought after species for recreational hunters at Assateague Island. Research is to seek and understand not only the population dynamics of the target species, but also habitat use patterns of the species and the impacts of the species on all components of its habitat (e.g. vegetation, soils, other species).
