Administration of the Gulf and South Atlantic Regional Panel on Aquatic Nuisance Species

 

THIS IS A NOTICE OF INTENT TO AWARD TO A SINGLE SOURCE, AND THERE IS NO FULL ANNOUNCEMENT ASSOCIATED WITH THIS NOTICE. This Notice is NOT a request for competitive proposals. The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service (Service) intends to award a cooperative agreement to Gulf States Marine Fisheries Commission under authority of CFDA 15.608. The Grant Agreement will provide the recipient with necessary funding to: Task 1: Provide Administrative Support for the GSARP on Aquatic Invasive Species Section 1203(c) of the National Invasive Species Act of 1996 calls for the establishment of regional panels under the auspices of the ANSTF. The regional panels are directed by the legislation to: Ă‚Âż Identify priorities for the region with respect to aquatic nuisance species; Ă‚Âż Make recommendations to the Task Force regarding programs to address aquatic invasive species; Ă‚Âż Assist the Task Force in coordinating Federal aquatic nuisance species program activities in the respective regions; Ă‚Âż Coordinate, where possible, aquatic nuisance species program activities in the respective regions that are not conducted pursuant to the Act; Ă‚Âż Provide advice to public and private individuals and entities concerning methods of controlling aquatic nuisance species; and Ă‚Âż Submit annually a report to the Task Force describing activities within the respective regions related to aquatic nuisance species prevention, research, and control. The GSMFC will provide staff to maintain an active slate of membership on the GSARP. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed assistance based upon Departmental Manual 505DM2, paragraph 2.14 (B) (2) is solely within the discretion of the Government.
