2016 Anacostia River Festival

 

Master Cooperative Agreement Number P16AC00223 was entered into by and between the Department of the Interior, National Park Service, (NPS), and Building Bridges Across the River, Inc. (BBAR) for the purpose of increasing community use and public awareness of Anacostia Park and the Anacostia River. As adjoining property owners with a common purpose, this collaborative partnership combines the Parties efforts to present the annual Anacostia River Festival. For this 2016 Task Agreement, the Anacostia River Festival will be a centennial event promoting the 100th Anniversary of the NPS and the Anacostia River. The festival will include educational programs about the areaâ¿¿s wildlife, history, and environmental significance; performing arts; creative art demonstrations, and recreation, to name a few. The NPS is dedicated to elevating the visitor experience within Anacostia Park. Efforts will include introducing new events and attractions, such as the Anacostia River Festival, focusing on presenting quality natural, cultural, and environmental education programming directed at engaging youth and community involvement.
