2013 Friends Volunteers and Invasive Species

 

The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, Headquarters Region 7 intends to award a single source financial assistance agreement as authorized by 505 DM 2.14.B Friends of Alaska National Wildlife Refuges. This notice is not a request for proposals and the Government does not intend to accept proposals. Award will be made 15 days after this notice. Americas National Wildlife Refuges are being threatened and impacted by invasive species. For refuge managers, these troublesome species present a complex challenge that demands many resources and long term attention. In Alaska, these threats have the potential to greatly impact fully intact ecosystems. The National Wildlife Refuge System is seeking to partner with formal volunteer groups and Friends groups to combat these wildlife and habitat threats.
